Visual Information Mapping research description

The primary focus of this project was to research methods of mapping visual information via a multi touch sensitive surface. The result of this phase of the research was development of a bespoke physical interface to interact with visual software in a very simplistic way.

The physical interface was designed to use any MIDI compatible software wchich caters for variety input methods. For simplicity and scalability it consists of 9 square tiles. It is strong enough to be used for floor based input, yet completely transparent to allow for use as an overlay and sensitive enough for tabletop interactions.
