iRes supports major conference Media Matters: Friedrich Kittler and Technoculture at Tate Modern

Media Matters: Friedrich Kittler and Technoculture is a conference organised in association with the London Consortium, Birkbeck, Goethe-Institut and iRes, University College Falmouth and will take place on 27-28 June in Tate Modern in London.

This conference is a two-day series of events comprising:
- A keynote lecture and performance by Friedrich Kittler with Joulia Strauss and Martin Carlé: "Preparing the Arrival of the Gods"
- A symposium featuring leading thsinkers in the fields of cultural theory, film and the arts
- ‘Gramophones, Films, Typewriters': audio, video and text works curated by Seth Kim-Cohen

Kate Southworth, iRes Cluster Leader has been invited to chair one of the three panels, entitled ‘Film’. The panelists are Alexander R. Galloway, theorist and a programmer who teaches at New York University and Caroline Basset, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Media and Film at University of Sussex and Director of the Centre for Material Digital Culture.
