Workshop Pure Data

Brendan Byrne

22 March 2007
9.30 hrs – 16.00 hrs
Seminar A RGS
Woodlane, Falmouth

This PD workshop was organised in response to intrest in PD workshop wich took place in January 2007 as part of WHOT day organised by iRes in collaboration with VJ Theory.

PD (aka Pure Data) is a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing. The workshop will give participants an introduction to PD sufficient to allow participants to explore the environment for themselves. The emphasis will be on using PD as a tool to create interactive art works, initially as a method to produce interactive visuals but also as an introduction to producing interaction in a physical space.
Participants likely to find it useful are those interested in introducing and using realtime interaction in their practice and anyone working within new media subjects from graphic design and illustration to broadcasting and media studies and from fine art and interactive art to theories of art and film studies.
